In commemoration of Global Public Health Week and ‘enhancing and democratizing governance in global health’, on Tuesday, 9 April 2024 the Digital Transformation for Health Lab (DTH-LAB) and Young World Federation of Public Health Association (YWFPHA) will hold an event titled, “Digital Health Citizenship: Advancing digital health and civic literacy through intergenerational dialogues”. We welcome participants from all sectors and disciplines to join this intergenerational dialogue on digital health citizenship.

Enfranchising young people to co-design and critically engage with digital first health systems is a core project of the Digital Transformation for Health Lab (DTH-Lab) as part of efforts to increase public participation and digital health citizenship. By partnering with youth and youth organisations at the global, regional and country level, the DTH-Lab is launching an assessment of young people’s perception of digital health citizenship to;

This intergenerational dialogue seeks to evaluate the existing perception of digital health citizenship with a specific emphasis on gathering insights from youth and understanding their main asks in becoming digital health citizens. Discussants will launch an online survey, present initial findings of a scoping study on digital health literacy tools by the Young World Federation of Public Health Association, and provide space for knowledge exchange on issues and ways forward in advancing digital health citizenship.
