Digital determinants of health and the role of technology companies

The first session explored the role of technology companies in shaping digital health, emphasizing the importance of data governance and responsible regulation of digital platforms. It also highlighted the challenges of gender-related barriers to digital access and the need for more research into the impact of social media on young people’s mental health and well-being.

National approaches to digital health transformations and key considerations for building trust

The second webinar shifted the focus to national approaches to digital health transformations, examining strategies for developing digital-first health systems in Nigeria and India while ensuring they are inclusive of young people. Fellows also discussed tools that can help young people become active digital citizens for health and explored the complexities of building trust in digital health systems to ensure equitable access and benefits.
